Flora has been found most abundant in the east coast in areas receiving substantial amount of freshwater from the local perennial rivers Ceyhan, Seyhan, and Tarsus and to a lesser extent in the west coast of inner Antalya bay fed by the Manavgat, Köprü and Aksu rivers. Population has been found least in areas where exchanges with offshore waters are most pronounced.
